On Wednesday, 26th of November 2025, two members of the National Guard officers from West Virginia were shot at close range near Farragut Square in downtown Washington DC by a Afghan national named Rahmanullah Lakanwal who was resettled by the Biden administration via Operation Allies Welcome in 2021. Apparently whatever vetting process he received wasn't sufficient, as he drove cross country to commit this act of terrorism.
